The original crew assigned was Chris Ferguson (commander), Eric Boe (pilot), and Nicole Mann. Ferguson was replaced by Wilmore for health reasons, Boe withdrew for family reasons and was replaced by Edward Fincke. Mann was reassigned and replaced by Williams. When the crew was reduced from three to two, Fincke was moved to Starliner 1.
Starliner returned unmanned due to concerns with thruster performance. The crew will return on SpaceX Crew 9.
